~ Aelfwine ~
Our Medieval Musical Duo
Alefwine means Elf-friend in Old English.
We liked this as a name as it conveys the charm and enchantments of some of our most loved Medieval music.
Our first performance on the Castle Stages of the superb Medieval Music in the Dales festival – returning this year at Castle Bolton in North Yorkshire – was a delight!

Daring to Sing
My personal Lockdown Soul-Share
This is the full version of a spontaneous recital, broadcast on Facebook live on 14th June. It was a gesture towards myself, daring to show my solo voice and the songs of a lifetime (REALLY of a lifetime) so publicly, a challenge to my inner critic (of a lifetime too!) and an authentic deep wish to share these pieces of my soul with family and friends. It felt part of a lockdown necessary call to break isolations old and new, to connect, to be brave, to send love out, to embrace and create. If you missed it, here is my small dare, and if you where there, thank you!
The songs and talk are both in English and Italian. The album shown in the recital is available from BandCamp here or directly from myself and Water& Earth, just get in touch

Water & Earth @The Haworth Art Gallery – 6th October 2019
A beautiful afternoon, once again, with an all time favourite venue for us. We returned with great pleasure, had a warm and soulful time and enjoyed improvising an Autumnal magic piece facilitated by Filomena, with Edward on classical guitar and our lovely audience’s own sounds made with soft percussion and tissue paper!
Thank you all! We will be back for sure
Water & Earth @ Hebden Bridge Folk Roots 2019
