I am originally from Italy and have lived and worked in UK since 1994. My initial training was in Humanistic Integrated Counselling, then in Counselling Psychology (BPS) and Clinical Supervision. Following my life long interested in the necessity of including the body in all living and healing paradigms, I also trained in Embodied Relational Therapy (ERT) and became an accredited Body Psychotherapist with the European Association for Body Psychotherapy (EABP).
I have worked in Mental Health and Primary Care from 1996 to 2003 and in independent practice from 1997 to date. I taught briefly on a University Counselling Training and worked for a University Student Counselling Service.
In my further developments, opening up to the collective, and with a long standing passion for music and rhythm, I have also become a Community Drum Circle Facilitator, holding rhythmical circles in communities and themed groups, making use of drums, percussion, dance and song.
My interest and experiences in holistic and embodied approaches to health and personal growth and in music are reflected both in my life and in my work. I am open to the many creative, embodied ways in which we express, know ourselves and grow. I have a passion for accompanying others in their search for themselves and their path. I believe in our self-healing capabillities and in offering the space to contact those abilities and to operate change at whatever level possible.
The integration of my studies, experiences and passions has found fulfilment in the completion of an MA Dance and Somatic Wellbeing- Connections to the Living Body at UCLan, enabling me to transition to individual and group co-creative learning based on somatic movement and deep embodiment. This practice encompasses, for me, the ground of deep connection with anatomical awareness, non verbal and metaphorical expression, restorative and resourcing processes and immersive contemplative movement practices and spiritualities.
Since deepening into these studies and practices, I have also engaged with somatic movement research, focussing on community dance and developmental movement, this looking particularly at the wellbeing potency of joint creative movement and dance activities for families with babies and toddlers.
I facilitate workshops and groups that encourage a creative, resourceful way of being, communicating, expressing ourselves, living our lives and shaping up our work and visions within ourselves and in the world. This work wants to assist in accessing the forgotten crucial knowledge of our body and in restoring our resilience, our active imagination and our rooting in our natural rhythms and echo-environment. This, therefore, includes using creative expression in various forms, movement, drumming, dream work and musical creation and has manifested in a number of projects realised in liaison with Community agencies and organisations.
You will find information about this work in the Workshops and Music section of this site.
I have studied and still continue to study percussions within a variety of cultural contexts and I am a folk singer and song writer. This is also an integral part of my work and life. I have performed in a variety of musical contexts and with my partner have formed a duo, Water & Earth, releasing an album in March 2018.
I currently live in West Yorkshire, UK, where I indulge in my love of walks, music, good food and good friends and I continue to develop my musical and movement passion in alliance with nature and the woodlands.
